We have two major problems plaguing qsat decoders. One is hardware (difficult or almost impossible to fix) problem which can occur anytime especially when you finish upgrading your qsat decoder successfully. To learn more about this hardware problem of qsat and how to prevent it, please read my article here. The second problem happens as a result of bad software upgrade of a qsat or speed hd decoder. It mostly occurs in when there is a power failure during the software upgrade process which always results in a “BLUESCREEN OF DEATH” with an inscription “DOWNLOAD FROM TS”. In this post, i will teach you how to fix qsat download From TS(applicable to speed hd, cobox and nusky).

I already wrote an article here on how to recover your qsat q11g, q16g, q13g, q11g+, q13g+ and q15g from download from ts problem. However, when qsat q23g, speed HD, and newer decoders were released, the above methods used in reviving older versions of qsat was failed to work for qsat q23g, speed HD and newer models. Hence the reason for putting up this post which is about recovering your qsat q23g or your speed HD s1 or s2 from Download from ts software problem.
How to Fix Qsat Download From TS-Which Occurred as a Result of bad Software Upgrade
Once there is power outage while you are upgrading your qsat or speed decoder, there is bound to be soft brick known as “download from ts on your decoder. To fix this, you need the followings:
Pre-requisites
- Stable electricity (since the problem was initially caused due to unstable electricity, please this time around use stable electricity so as to prevent a worse situation)
- Download this software for qsat q23g you can as well use any other qsat q23g software at your disposal.
- Download this software for speed HD s1
- Get a clean compatible empty USB flash drive. Please don’t use an external hard disk. Also, don’t use your phone as the storage device and don’t use a card reader.
Important Notice: If you are using the software above, you don’t need to extract them because i already extracted them. the default extension of the files is *********.bin e.g Speed HD S1_V6.06.83_2014052309.bin (Note: If you are not seeing the .bin in your own case, it means you are using a windows computer with hidden file extensions. please set your computer to show file extensions.
Steps to fix qsat download From TS
- First off, you will have to rename the software from whatever is the default name to “rom” remember for older versions of qsat, we had to rename to “rom.bin” if you rename to rom.bin for qsat q23g, speed hd, q26g, or newer models, your qsat or speed won’t detect the software. so, for example, rename Speed HD S1_V6.06.83_2014052309.bin to rom in other words, you will have to completely delete the file extension(.bin) and also change the name of the file to rom.
- Copy the renamed software into your flash drive,
- Completely power off your qsat q23g decoder
- Now, insert your flash drive to the usb port on your qsat or speed decoder
- power on your qsat or speed HD
- Now wait until the “rom” performs its magic and bring your decoder back to life
Good day Lemmy, please I’m using Super Box decoder. I did a factory reset to scan for channels and there was some problem with some of the channels so I decided to do restore problem and it gave me some channels of which I selected one to see , only for me to notice that, the decoder is is stuck on start screen. I have done a lot but it won’t leave the start screen. Any help

@smith; what is the error message? if your decoder is not detecting it at all, it simply means you renamed wrongly. please the file extension matters a lot. Besides you need to use your own latest software for the renaming

@Alex, use your existing software by renaming it to rom. that is all you need to do to revive any qsat or speed hd decoder. There is no special software anywhere for this sir

happy xmas my dear Lemmy. Since upgrading my speed Hd decoder, i have not been able to connect via lan and wifi. then i switch network to lan and wifi, it really shows ‘network connection success” unfortunately withoudt unscrambling channels. I estimate that the new software may be the problem as i read one other person in this forum complaining of same issue. Any head way as far as this problem is concerned? It will be nice to hear from you.
@ngong, new software is not the problem for speed hd s1 besides.. who advice you to upgrade the software of your speed decoder when in actual fact it was unscrambling channels? I don’t see the reason why anybody will tamper with a decoder that is working fine. I hate it when people claim they upgraded and their decoder stop working. why upgrade a working decoder?
Anyways, downgrade your speed hd s1 by installing a older version of the software. search the site for older version of your speed hd s1

dear lemmy, i have been having problems with my QSAT decoder. i gave out the task to an installer whom i belive i trusted cos i do not have any idea of Qsat and ow it works. he introduced it to me when I had problem with my Dst* decoder. He gave Q11, the decoder showed service expire in 156 days. since then i have not been enjoying it at all. it come up for 2 mins and goes out for 20 mins or more. I would appreciate your assistance on what to do. if there is any upgrade I need to do. I trust your judgement bro

@sembi, as long as your qsat died due to power failure while upgrading its software, you can bring it back to life by renaming your firmware to either rom.bin or rom
@Lemmy my Qsat Q23G decoder disconnects the 3G modem connection while I’m watching and any attempt to reconnect gives me a message ‘No Dongle Found’. To revive the connection I need to unplug and replug the modem. Eventually I go through the cycle again.

@lex, it can be two ways. It’s either your lnb Port in your decoder is damaged or your dish connection is faulty. Whichever the case maybe, please get help from your satellite installer

Hello lemmy, I discover that some Q11G expired after I upgrade them with the latest software, whereas they suppose not to have expire at lest some of them still have like a month to expire. Does it mean that the upgrade is responsible for this?

@Darkwah that’s difficult. However you can get some files back with some pc tools called partition recovery tools
download ophcrack and and make it a bootable so thts it run from the cd.
