Manually add TP to Qsat & G6 and Other FTA Receivers
This task is straightforward on other decoders like strong and t-link. In fact, before the advent of sat-trackers/sat-finders, strong decoders have been the standard decoder for scanning/tracking a new satellite in Africa. Unfortunately, not every installer knows how to use one. Almost every model of a strong decoder is straightforward to manipulate. The task of manually editing and manually adding TPs in G6 is relatively easy, while the task is tricky, or let me call it, a bit difficult on Qsat.
Adding a TP to A Qsat Decoder Manually
To add a frequency to the frequency list on a qsat decoder, complete the following steps:
- On the qsat remote control, press menu
- Now navigate to Installation
- Press the OK button
- Next, enter 0000 as the default password
- Go to Transponder List
- Press the red button to “ADD”
- After this, Input your frequency, satellite name, polarization, and symbol rates. Then press OK twice to mark the newly added TP
- Lastly, press the blue button to start the channels scan. You need to choose manual scan and press ok.\
- Once you complete the scanning on qsat, all the channels on that TP will appear.

ADD Transponder to AZSKY G6 Decoder
The manual tp process is a bit easier on Azsky G6.
- First off, press the menu on your remote control.
- Next, go to installation and select manual scan.
- Under manual scan, edit the symbol rate>>press the green button.
- Next, change the satellite name and the frequency, then press OK.
This may just come in handy if you own old models of Qsat decoders like q11g. By contrast, modern qsat decoders like cobox, and nusky are updated with all the latest satellite transponders. If you are in the market to get a model by Qsat team, you will be better off with their newest models. Besides, they are no longer supporting older models.

@Michael, please remove your diseq switch and connect your lnb cable directly to scan. Also make sure you choose auto scan or blind scan instead of the default manual scan. Meanwhile delete all existing channels before perfoming the above task. If problem persists, consult your local satellite installer to help you fix your dish outside

@ king if course you can set it to receive dst* channels buy you won’t be able to watch those dst* channels unless you use a cccam account on your strong decoder

1). Are the channels at 12220 and 12206 you mentioned in this article still on air because I’m not getting any signal.
2). I haven’t been getting any HD channels for more that two months now. Is this a prevailing case or there’s something wrong with my decoder/account ? I used to get DiscoveryHD always !

Gd monin Lemmy, Is there nothing to be done by qsat & Azsky to unscramble beinsports ?. i did a rescan last nyt to see beinsports HD stations added to my decoder ( I wasn’t able to get HD stations b4 now on my 2.4 m dish in FCT) bt the SD stations i had before couldn’t be found.I really need beinsports as they cover almost all sports.

@rkiss a big YES. beinsports upgraded and block most of the channels. The few ones left can only be viewed on 3.6meters dish and bigger

@olumide, am afraid use manual scan option to do that. If manual scan cannot be edited, then am afraid there is nothing that can be done. U will need to use it on strong decoders or other more powerful decoders

LM, the complaints dat some strong decoders can’t scan d dstives channels is true, but there is a way out. I had d same problem. They wont get it on d normal dstv frequency. For those who didn’t get those Dstives FTA channels on their strong decoders, i got mine on 26.0E BADR 4,6
Frequency: 11.727Ghz
LNB frequency: 9.750/10.600
Then auto scan.
I couldn’t get it on d normal frequency u guys gave out here. I appreciate ur efforts, though but its just for those who didn’t get it.

@hubert, it will work on any free to air standalone decoder. i don’t think original multitv decoder is a standalone.

Hi Lemmy thanks for the update. I’ve tried everything u’ve outlined in your post but my G6 is showing 0% on quality the moment i key in that symbol rate and frequency. Could it be that my dish size is too small for me to catch these channels?
