Often at times, you may encounter problems with your Gsky V8 decoder. Issues may arise in different ways ranging from bad software upgrades to interrupted power during upgrades. At times, it may even be a problem with the software version from the factory. Whatever the case may be, as long as you notice that your Gsky is totally dead and won’t fully boot up due to a software problem, you can easily use this method to revive your decoder. For you to perform a successfully dead Gsky V8 revival, you will need the following items:

• Rs232 cable RS232 cable is cross line(2pin-3pin,3pin-2pin)
• Download the pc tool for V8: GSKY_V8_RS232_UpgradeTool
• Get a desktop computer(recommended) or a laptop if you have a USB to serial cable.
• Download the newest Gsky V8 software available
• You need an uninterruptible power. I will advise you to use a generator or inverter if you cannot vouch for your electricity

PROCESS OF REVIVING YOUR BRICKED GSKY V8

Once you have all the requirements handy, you can now follow the instructions below.

Firstly, please make sure that your RS232 cable driver is installed correctly. The RS232 cable is a cross-line cable.

Now run the upgrade tool“GXDownloader_boot.exe”,  as shown below:

set the Chip Type to  “Others”

For the Boot File Select “gx3211-6622-dvbs2-sflash.boot”

Serial Port: Your RS232 cable com port.

Under Section: Select “all”

The next row is “File”: here you need to select the upgrade software from your PC/Easy disk/USB drive…
You can download newest GSKY V8 software from the link above.

Press “Start” on the window.

Upgrade tool window will display “wait” ROM request…please power on or restart the decoder…

Wait a short time, it will begin to send data to the box. The process takes about 12 minutes.

furthermore, the data transfer will erase flash data.

Next, the tool will write new data to Flash.

You still have to wait a moment, for the Upgrade to be completed

Finally, you can now restart GSKY V8 and the box will return to normal work
