The curved screen mobile phone has finally ushered in a highlight moment after many years of development. In recent years, it has found solace in the hands of Chinese manufacturers. Originally with such an inspirational story, everyone should be happy. Sadly, this is not the case as there are more and more complaints about “curved screen mobile phones” on the Internet, which aroused my curiosity. The question is, why do people still buy curved-screen phones?
The “curved screen mobile phone” has undergone development for so many years. Although it is in its peak period, it has not changed the old problems that consumers are experiencing.
Summary of Curved-Screen Phones Problems
- Expensive maintenance costs: It is common for mobile phones to break, but the maintenance costs of curved-screen phones are prohibitive for many people. If you are using a Samsung phone, you surely will know what I am talking about
- Difficult to stick film: This is the most annoying part of using a curved screen phone. No singular screen protectors/film tends to work perfectly. Not even the one manufactured by Samsung. The difficulty of sticking film on a curved screen is an old problem, and there are solutions, but they are either expensive or feel bad.
- Serious accidental touch: This problem is also an old problem. Today, the accidental touch of curved screen mobile phones is still severe.
Why do people still buy Curved-Screen Phones Despite Such Obvious Shortcomings?
We now know that the apparent constraints of using a curved-screen phone exist. That brings us back to the question of why we still use them. I am obviously also guilty of this because I have been using Samsung curved-screen phones since their inception. The following three reasons are very realistic:
1. Flagship Android Phones all Curved Screens, and users May Have no Choice.
For users pursuing performance, their next mobile phone must be a flagship mobile phone. Still, the positioning of flagship mobile phones has significantly changed in recent years, and it is divided into three versions: standard version, Pro version, and Pro+ version.
The standard mobile phone version has comparatively too few configurations and is called “the beggar version” by many people. Base or standard versions are far less attractive than the flagship mobile phones of previous years.
Therefore, many users with configuration requirements can only add a better Pro model or Pro+/Max/Ultra version.
When you reach this price range, basically all are curved-screen phones. Some users think that it will be better when they see a new product on the shelves, but when they actually experience it, online complaints never stop. After all, many users are still not used to curved screens, but they have no choice.
2. Mobile phone manufacturers are hitting the high-end market, and curved screens are more on The High-End Spectrum
In recent years, manufacturers have entered the high-end mobile phone market one after another.
The “involution” is very radical. They frantically pile up materials on mobile phones. Various high-end configurations and self-developed technologies continue to emerge.
Although the actual experience of “curved screen” mobile phones is not very good, it seems more attractive and technological.
Many users who have not used “curved screen” mobile phones should be attracted by this appearance. Therefore, many users do not know about it and feel it is easy to use after purchasing a curved screen.
3. Most of the curved screens are Samsung Screens, and the Screen Quality is Excellent
One of the reasons why mobile phone manufacturers like to use “curved screens” is because they look good.
As the world’s top supplier, Samsung’s screen quality is naturally outstanding. In the past few years, Samsung has also used “curved screens” as flagship mobile phones.
Chinese mobile phones such as Huawei, Xiaomi are not ambiguous at all.
Mobile phone manufacturers and users like the better screen quality and the more aesthetic curved surface design. This excellent screen also has a lot of curved screen fans.

Conclusion
Samsung Galaxy S phones and many Chinese flagship mobile phones use curved screen designs mainly because they follow trends and showcase technology.
The current curved screen still has many shortcomings, and it is also a fact that many users are not cool with it. On the upside, with excellent screen quality and technological design, it is still worth buying if these old problems can be solved entirely.
