It all started with mtn which I was using at the time, hence I would be using MTN Nigeria as my case study. However, this trick will work for other networks globally. It may happen that you are having valid data on your phone and every other app minus opera mini can access the internet. if you are on this table, then you are in the right place. This article will discuss how to fix operamini unable to connect error. I mean if your opera mini is displaying the following error “Unable to connect. Please review your network settings” , this post will help you.
Out of my curiosity, i started conducting my research what i did was to use wifi to connect my opera mini and Alas!!! when i did this, I discovered I was able to browse flawlessly for hours.
Basically, what causes this error is the overloading of the default operamini server. All you need to do is to get an alternative but compatible opera mini server and you will be a le to fix this error end continue browsing.
I kept wondering what could be wrong until i discovered the problem and the solution to the problem which am going to share with you here. It is more or less a server problem from opera mini and whatever caused it I wouldn’t know. All i can say is that I have the solution and it works with Nokia java(s40), Nokia Symbian, Android, Windows phones, and iOS Devices.
Fix Operamini Unable to Connect to on NOKIA(S40) Java Phones
Like i said earlier, the solution is for you to change your server to any known opera mini servers other than “server4.operamini.com” (which is same as 195.189.142.132) But for java users, i have to input the IP into a “prov file” which i have attached to this post. what you will do is to use an opera handler mod and use it with my prov file then make sure you put “82.145.211.1” into your proxy server after changing your proxy server from No Proxy to HTTP. that is all for all Nokia Java phones. Once you do this, you have successfully eliminated the annoying error messages of opera mini.
- Download the “.PROV FILE MTNProxy .prov_82.145.211.1“
- Download my opera handler combo mod for those who don’t have one Opmin65 IDM.HUI202 LMWPDA
The Solution to Opera Mini “Unable to Connect. Please Review Your Network settings” Android Phones
- First off, Download my opera handler .apk Opera Mini 6.1 Handler100 for Android or any handler mod for android phones Or you may download opera mobile at their official site
- T use to use it with opera mini handler, simply put this opera IP “82.145.211.1” into the proxy server of the .apk opera mini handler then change it to HTTP.
- To use opera mobile with an android phone on mtn Nigeria install your opera mobile then goto Setting>>opera Turbo>>and set it to always on. that is all, your connections will be stable. (note: opera mobile consumes more mb than opera mini so if you are a low spender, always use opera mini)
Solution to Opera Connection Problems on iPhone/iPad
For iPhone, there is no known handler mod so the above tricks ain’t going to work and there is no opera mobile for iPhone so what you will do is to try and download any of the following browsers from App Store or any other trusted source.
i. Mercury_Web_Browser
ii. Puffin_Web_Browser
iii. Chrome browser,
iv. Perfect_Browser_v7_2 or any other browser that you know. if you want to save data then use ucweb , mercury browser or perfect browser.
For all Windows Phones
Download any java emulator compatible with your Windows version e.g jbed, microemulator e.t.c then apply the formula in 2 above you are good to go.
Fix Opera “Unable to connect. Please review your network settings” on Nokia Symbian
You can do this in two ways:
- if you wish to use an unmodified version of opera, then you must change MTN DEFAULT IP which is (10.199.212.2 port: 8080) to opera ip e.g 82.145.211.2 port 80
or
- If you wish to use a handler opera mod then just put any working opera server inside your opera handler as explained above.
Final Note: To solve this problem, the solution is either you use another browser, or you change your configuration settings or you use a handler mod.
