Have you ever entered a panic buying any smart TV? Or, are you buying a TV online for the first time? I hope you can grab the items you can buy. So for those who already bought a TV online, or are about to buy a TV, what should you pay attention to when receiving the TV from the deliveryman after the TV arrives? Today I will take you to explain it in detail to facilitate subsequent after-sales processing.
Things To Pay Attention to When Receiving Your TV You Purchased Online
In this segment, I will highlight those things you need to look out for immediately after you take delivery of that smart TV you just purchased online. To be in a safe position, you need to run all these checks in the presence of whoever it is that is delivering the TV to you
1. Read the Information on the receipt/Documentation
First of all, you must read the receipt notice; this is very important~
The merchant will include the notice for signing at the back of the product detail page, or it may be in the manual. Before the TV arrives, read the instructions for signing and do it according to the precautions for signing. Doing this correctly might help prevent any problems in the follow-up. Signing or filling out the product form will help in activating all your warranties or any other after-sales services that there might be.
2. Open the box and Perform the Followings Physical Inspections
Secondly, after getting the TV, you can check it out of the box:
Visual inspection
After unpacking, first, perform an appearance inspection in front of the courier agent. This process mainly depends on whether the TV screen and the body are damaged during transportation.
First, check that the TV package is not damaged. If the damage is serious and there is obvious squeezing, you need to be careful when checking the TV so that you won’t damage it further and void your claim.
Next, check the appearance of the TV, and if there is a bump in the body or the screen, take pictures for evidence because there may also be problems inside the TV. In my own case, I recorded the unboxing process from start to finish. There, please record an unboxing video.

Power-on inspection
After unpacking and after the visual inspection is completed, a power-on inspection should be performed in front of the delivery person to see if there is any damage inside the TV.
Once you power it on, you can see whether the inner screen is damaged, whether there are dead pixels, light leakage, etc. on the screen.
For the overall best detection of dead pixels, you must get close to the screen and watch carefully.
Prepare some images with pure color/background in advance and put them in the U-disk/USB flash drive. If you feel that the accuracy of the pure-color picture detection is not high, you can install a special TV tool software on the TV to perform the detection.
Also more professional and accurate. The detection of light leakage can also be done through “screen detection”.
After the inspection, if you find that the TV has dead pixels, no matter how many, you can communicate with the seller or manufacturer for an after-sales just in time. Although the dead pixels of some brands can only be replaced after reaching a certain degree, the parts of the dead pixels should still be noted and communicated.
In addition, it should be noted that some TVs will have special after-sales personnel for unpacking verification, such as Sony TV, which clearly states, “Please do not unpack by yourself“. After signing the receipt, Sony’s after-sales personnel will unpack the box for inspection.
Goods and installation. At this time, don’t open the box and verify by yourself, just let someone come.
3. TV installation Method
After the unpacking and inspection are successful, it is time for the installation. At this time, you need to confirm your installation method. There are two types of TV installation. One is an installation using the “tv base”. The TV comes with a base, and the other is “rack/hanger installation,” which needs to be purchased separately.
Check if You Can Install the TV Yourself
The seat assembly is relatively simple. A screwdriver is needed, tighten a few screws.
However, suppose you don’t want to install it yourself, for brands that provide free installation services. In that case, you can call the official after-sales or customer service phone to make an appointment for on-site installation.
If the TV you bought does not provide free installation and you need to spend money to install it, then do it yourself. In addition, for large-size TVs, if there are not enough staff at home and you can’t figure it out by yourself, it is best to ask a professional to come.
Note That Original” Racks/Hangers are not Necessarily Easy to Use
If you choose a rack to install, you must buy one, and the manufacturer will also provide one, but they are all simple racks with a single function. They cannot adjust the pitch angle, left and right rotation, etc.
Racks that can’t be adjusted cannot meet the needs of multi-angle viewing. Buying a multi-function hanger by yourself is still recommended, especially some specially designed TVs, such as Sony TVs, with specially designed hangers to achieve a better wall-hanging effect.
In addition, the installation service can also be purchased together when purchasing the rack. Because a single rack is very cheap, mainly because of the high labor costs, it is more convenient and cheaper to buy the installation service when buying the rack.
