Opera Mini is one of the lightest mobile browsers. It comes second only to the UC browser in this department of speed. However, it is a big deal at times to get opera mini to resume an interrupted download. We all know that your download can be can fail due to a couple of reasons. 1. it may be due to internet connection failure or 2. due to your phone running out of battery. I am happy to tell you that in this post, I shall teach you a simple trick on how to Resume Downloads on Opera mini browser.
Before I proceed I will love to tell you that this trick works best on any .jar opera mini browser ranging from version 5.xxx to the current version 7. be it a handler or an unmodified version. I have tested it and it worked 100%
Resume Downloads on Opera mini browser(Any version)
When you are downloading a file with opera mini browser.jar and all of a sudden you discovered that the download speed stopped or the download stuck to a particular percentage, then you will need the following tricks to complete your download otherwise your download will fail and you might have wasted your precious time, energy and bandwidth.
- when you notice the download is not continuing, press pause or if that fails to work, disconnect your connection without exiting your Opera mini browser. (if you are using Nokia s40 Java phone you can use the red button or wait until it disconnects) on its own
- Now, When the Opera is disconnected and then the download is paused, perform the following actions on your Opera mini browser.
- Click the center button which indicates “restart the download”. The first prompt you receive, click ‘NO‘
- the second time select ‘YES‘
- the third time select ‘YES’
- Now, your download will definitely start/resume from where it stopped as against starting from the beginning
NOTES: This trick won’t work if you already exited the Opera mini browser.
