Following Nintendo’s release of the FC Red and White machine last year, Sony is now releasing a Replica PS game console, the PlayStation Classic, at the PlayStation 25th Anniversary in Hong Kong. Sony wants us to relive the memories of the Original PlayStation re-enacted
The PS “Reissue Edition” is on the spot and it is much smaller than I thought. Remember that in 1994, 24 years ago, Sony Entertainment (SCE) officially released the PlayStation (PS) game console in Japan.

Original PlayStation re-enacted: the story so far
That era(the 90s) was dominated by Nintendo and the family at the time, with the advantage of Sony in software. Surprisingly, the PS game console surpassed the previous two competitors in a short time after its release. This also paved the way for the popular PS2.

Today, Sony’s PlayStation Classic, as its name suggests, is the classic replica of the original PlayStation console.
As we saw earlier in Sony’s publicity map, the design of the machine is based on the original PS game console. Both the mainframe and its matching handles are designed according to the appearance of the original game console. the only difference in the design between the two is the volume button.
Although PlayStation Classic is a re-enactment version of the original game console, Sony did not copy the volume parameters of the original PS game console to this replica device.
In fact, the PlayStation Classic has only two iPhone XS Max sizes. If you wear a pair of overalls with big pockets, I believe the main unit can also be put into the pocket.
According to official data, the size of the new PS classic is 45% smaller than the prototype. However, in my opinion, the reduction should be at least 50%.
Although the original PlayStation console was introduced in 1994, before the arrival of the PS one and PlayStation 2 in 2000, the original PlayStation host had many changes in the interface.
The Original PlayStation re-enacted: The new changes on PlayStation Classic
In the year 2018, the original PlayStation host interface was replaced by the PlayStation Classic’s USB interface and HDMI, and the storage method was changed from the previous external memory card to the internal storage of the hard disk.
Therefore, in the box of the PlayStation Classic, we can only see one HDMI cable, power supply and two USB interface handles that come with the camera.
In other words, the handle of the original game console cannot be used on the machine, the handle of the machine cannot be inserted into the original game console, let alone the memory card and the “Golden Finger” artefact.
In addition, the “Open” and “Reset” buttons on both sides of the CD-ROM drive has also been altered by Sony. But, since the machine is not equipped with an optical drive, these two buttons become game switch buttons and pause buttons.
PlayStation Classic: List of built-in Games
Although we can’t put the long-awaited original console CD into the reissue version of the game, but the built-in games are quite rich, including “Final Fantasy 7”, “Rock Racing R4”, “Tekken 3, “Resident Evil”, “Parasitic Eve” and a total of 20 classic games. The screen output resolution of these games is 720P, and the display ratio is 4:3.

Price of PlayStation Classic in HKD and USD and where to buy
The PlayStation Classic was officially released on December 3 and is priced at HKD798($102). As a classic re-enactment of Sony games, I believe this host can recall the childhood memories of many players.
You can now buy this console on popular online stores including Amazon. A game console preloaded with 20 classic games for $102 is not a bad deal. With this, you can engage your kids or wards for hours on end.
