By way of definition, a smart TV is a digital television that is, Internet-connected for entertainment. Today, I shall be giving you a very detailed guide on how to set up both official and 3rd-party IPTV on LG & Samsung TV with the help of some free and paid IPTV apps. For your reading pleasure, I will be presenting IPTV players that can run on smart tv
Smart TVs are available as stand-alone products but regular televisions can also be made “smart” through set-top boxes that enable advanced functions. In other words, you can connect an IPTV box to a non-smart tv to make it a pseudo-smart tv
Besides being able to receive cable and satellite or over-the-air (OTA) transmission passively, smart TVs are designed with extra hardware and connection ports, as well as a TV operating system with a GUI.
What App can you use to Watch IPTV Playlist on your Samsung or LG Smart TV Directly?
The most popular IPTV media player for Samsung smart TVs(with Tizen OS and non-Tizen OS) and LG smart TVs with WebOS “smart IPTV player“. however, this is a paid app. Therefore, i will drop the names of a few “free IPTV players” available on various platforms including smart TVs.
About Smart IPTV Player APP
A smart IPTV player is a media/video player that is specially designed for use on specific smart TVs and Android devices. For example, the only way to load an IPTV playlist on Samsung smart tv is by installing a smart IPTV player. As for LG, the LG content stores have a couple of IPTV players but none of them can match the quality of smart IPTV.

Below is the list of the devices that are currently compatible with the smart IPTV player app.
- Android TV boxes
- Smart TV with Android OS

In addition, if your own TV runs an Android operating system, you are even lucky as you can install just about any iptv player to your tv including smart IPTV. Some of the top tv manufacturers that have adopted Android as their TV OS includes Vizio, Sony, Hisense, and so on.
Finally, smart IPTV is simply a bedrock for playing your IPTV streams on Android TV, Samsung smart TV, or LG.

Coming on the heels of Smart IPTV is Simple Smart IPTV. SS IPTV as its fondly referred to is SS IPTV is multi-purpose IPTV Player, which allows the playing and streaming of video from the internet or on the local net directly on your Smart TV.
It is also one of the most popular Smart TV applications in CIS, South America, and Europe. SS IPTV has become the first app of LG Smart World, which provided the opportunity for IPTV viewing for its users. Sadly, SS IPTV is not yet supported on Samsung smart tv.
