Before the advent of Windows 7 and Windows 8 phones, what we have was Windows mobiles with OS 6.5 and older as well as pockets pc both of which make use of cabinet files. Now what I mean is this, the extension of the file supported by windows mobile and pocket pc is .cab (meaning cabinet). It has been even more difficult to get files in .cab formats since the advent of windows 7 and windows 8 mobile phones. Therefore there is a need to look for alternatives and the alternative am presenting now is how to run all java applications designed for java enabled phones on your windows mobile or pocket pc with any of the two most popular java emulators for windows mobile. It means your opera mini, skype e.t.c in .jar format will now run smoothly on your phone.
Run Programs That are Written in Java for mobile Phones on your Pocket PC.
Intent Java MIDlet Manager is a Java emulator that allows you to run programs written in Java for mobile phones on your Pocket PC. Some examples of applications you could run include Opera Mini, Google Maps, and Mobile GMaps, and the list doesn’t stop here.

HOW TO USE INTENT JAVA MIDlet MANAGER OR ESMERTEC JBED:
First thing first you must make sure your phone is a Windows mobile running on the operating system 6.5 or older this doesn’t work for Windows 7 and newer OS.
Secondly, make sure you already have the raw file of your .jar application saved on your sd card. you can download Java apps from several sites including www.getjar.com, sharemobile.ro, wapking e.t.c
- install any of the two apps from my link above(only use the one that runs most smoothly on your phone)
- Send/ copy/ transfer your .jar file to your phone, then click on the .jar file and it will take you to the emulator which will finish the installation for you.
- You can now check inside the emulator to see your list of installed java apps.
- Alternatively, launch the emulator and locate the .jar file you want to install from within it.
I personally recommend that you install the emulator on your main memory not your sd card for best performance. If this has helped, pls share the post.
