This blog post is designed only one thing and that is to help you make the most or the best use of your Symbian phones.  Since this site has been launched, we have discussed several tutorials and tweaks for various phone brands including but not limited to blackberry, android, iOS Devices e.t.c. Today, I will be teaching you the easiest methods to install Nokia N-gage games on Symbian on s60v3 or s60v5 phones.

WHAT IS NOKIA N-GAGE/NGAGE GAMES?

The N-Gage is a mobile telephone and handheld game system by Nokia, based on the Nokia Series 60 platform, released in October 2003. It began sales on October 7, 2003.[ The N-Gage QD replaced the original N-Gage in 2004.

N-Gage attempted to lure gamers away from the Game Boy Advance by including cellphone functionality.

As it offers the full functionalities of the game ROMs that run on the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo handheld game consoles.

In 2005, Nokia announced that it would move its N-Gage games capabilities onto a series of smartphones. These devices have been available since early 2007, and a pre-release version of the N-Gage application allowing users to purchase and download games was made available for download from the official N-Gage website on February 4, 2008, The full version of the N-Gage service was released to the public on April 3, 2008] On October 30, 2009, Nokia pronounced the end of the N-Gage service at the end of 2010 It was never released in Japan.

What then is the Excitement all About Exciting Since Nokia Has Discontinued N-gage Support? 

The good news is that, despite the fact that Nokia has discontinued its support for ngage games, i can proudly tell you that I was able to download and buy almost all the good ngage games and ngage application which am going to provide for you now free of charge.

 Requirements for Running N-GAGE Games on Nokia S60V3 and S60V5 Phones 

Before I explain further, I will say that all s60v3 and s60v5 Symbian Nokia phones can install and play N-Gage games. However, Nokia N-Series phones e.g n73, n81, n95 e.t.c have an edge over Nokia E-series phones E.g E71, E75 e.t.c the major differences is with the screen sizes and keypads.

This tutorial will show you how you can run n-gage games on Nokia Symbian phones however you first need to unlock/hack your Nokia phone before you can play all these games. After hacking your Symbian phone, we can now proceed with the installation of ngage games.

You need The following to get started: 

  • a s60v3 phone (e.g 6210c, N95, N73, E66) or a Nokia s60v5 phone such as N97
  • Download the N-gage game installer/Application from our links below
  • You also need n-gage game ROMs which is in “.n-gage” extension. I already provided links to the most popular ones in this post.
  • winrar or freeunrar “required for extracting “.n-gage games” for s60(the link is at the end of the post
  • xplore “optional” s60v3/5:(link at the end of this post)
  • zipmanager “required for extracting your game ROMs”:(link below)

Steps to install Nokia N-gage on s60v3 and s60v5 Symbian Phones

After you have successfully hacked your phone, you will be able to play full version Ngage 2.0 games.

  1. Step 1: Download and install the Ngage 2.0 v1.40 Installer first. you can get it here
  2. Get a .n-gage game file from my link at the end of this post or anywhere else.
  3. After downloading the installer and the .ngage games, install the ngage installer.
  4. Now if your ngage games come in .zip or .rar extensions, then you must use either winrar or zip manager to extract it so that the real game file which must end with .ngage can be revealed.
  5. Next,  create a folder in your file manager inside  your memory card and  name it  “n-gage“
  6. Now copy the .ngage game files to e:/n-gage with xplore, or through your phone’s file manager.
  7. Step 7;  Launch the n-gage application and the installation of the game will automatically start. Make sure you install it on a memory card.
  8. Lastly, After installation finishes, Simply launch the game by clicking on the game icon. The game will start in about 10-15 seconds. Enjoy gaming.

NOTE: IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU COPY THE FILE, YOU SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO MOVE IT TO the Ngage Folder.

For those who have been on another planet, the Sims series is essentially a computerized dolls house where you can take care of people and/or animals usually in a normal-looking domestic environment. Sims 2: Pets on N-Gage concentrates on bringing up a puppy in a small bungalow with a back garden and nearby pet supplies shop.

4. Hooked on Creatures of the Deep N-GAGE by Infinite Dreams

Hooked On: Creatures Of The Deep is one of Nokia’s flagship first-party games, and one of the most eagerly awaited titles of the N-Gage platform’s launch. It’s been published by Nokia itself, and the developers are the Polish company Infinite Dreams, who are well-known in the smartphone community for their acclaimed high-quality games such as K-Rally, Sky Force, and Super Miners.

5. Block Breaker Deluxe.v1.0.3.N-GAGE by Gameloft

Block Breaker Deluxe is a clone of the ancient-but-popular Breakout/Arkanoid genre, you move a bat at the bottom of the screen to bounce a ball into bricks at the top of the screen. The goal of each screen is to remove all the bricks by bouncing the ball into them, but some bricks may take more than one hit to remove. If the ball hits the bottom of the screen you lose a life.

 6. Brain Challenge v1.1.4.N-GAGE.Symbian by Gameloft

Gameloft’s Brain Challenge. While there will be a handful of ‘big’ titles for the N-Gage, Brain Challenge is not one of them – but there’s nothing wrong with that. While the flash titles make up the column inches, it’s games like this that are going to be the bread and butter earners for Nokia and its partners. It would be mighty interesting to see just how well Brain Challenge does in the ‘revenue earned’ column after three or four months. I would not be surprised to see this title become a solid and continuing revenue stream for the Finns. Nothing here is especially new, but it fits well into the genre of ‘play a little puzzle every day’ that was started by Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training on the Nintendo DS.

Asphalt 3 is the follow-up to the Asphalt series of games from the first generation N-Gage and the Nintendo DS. This is a third-party title from Gameloft, who specialize in phone games and have supported N-Gage since its first generation. (The Asphalt brand is also used on Java titles from Gameloft, but these aren’t really the same games, they just have similar names and themes.)

8.Resident Evil Degeneration v1.00.05 N-GAGE by Capcom

From one of the world’s best-known survival horror game series, Resident Evil: Degeneration is a full-3D survival horror game in the 3rd-person shooter format.

Based on the opening scene of the movie of the same title, the game starts from the airport, which is swarming with hordes of zombies. To complete the mission, you will figure out puzzles, rescue survivors, and seek a way out from the airport. Explore all the rooms to figure out the puzzles. What a delightful genre the ‘run around shooting people’ game is. So much so that developers had to go and spoil it with ‘sneak around very quietly, make no noise, and don’t kill anyone unless you really really have to’ game. The inexplicable rise and adoption of the stealth game is something I fail to understand. Look, I’ve got hulking great machine gun here, I can see the plane I’m going to jump on at the end of the level – just let me kill the soldiers around it!

14.  One v1.25.4 N-GAGE SymbianOS9.1 Game by Digital Legends

One is an N-Gage exclusive series of 3D Jeet Kune Do fighting games, featuring motion-captured moves from real-life martial arts champion Tommy Carruthers. One for the next-gen N-Gage platform was previously known as “One: Who’s Next” as it’s the sequel to the original gen game of the same name.

Call a game ‘One’ and you’re going to get lazy jokes in any review about the Highlander films. That goes double if your game is all about finding the one greatest fighter in the world. So I’m sure Nokia’s marketing department knew what they were getting in for as they prepared to pitch this game.

15. Gameloft Dogz v1.3.6 N-GAGE Game

Dogz for N-Gage is a puppy simulator, supposedly related to the long-running “Petz” range of PC games, but in reality, this version of Dogz has absolutely no connection to the originals. This is more like a very poor attempt to copy Ninten dogs.

What did we expect from this game seeing as the Original was amazing? Could the original be improved? Read on.
My first thoughts when I heard about this game were ‘Yes!’ – My second thoughts when I first installed the demo? ‘What have they done to it’? To put it simply it let me down.

    It should be noted that you CAN’T play the original N-gage games on phones running symbian s60v3-5.
    Those phones can run N-gage 2.0 games but not the ones made for the taco phone. Only the taco phone, and a few other nokia’s made around the same time that featured similar build, can run original N-gage games.
    I spent last 2 days trying to run taco phone ngage games on my nokia N95 and concluded it’s impossible, if there’s a way I didn’t find it.
