The iOS jailbreak utility tool has been updated to version 1.5 so that it can support unTethered jailbreak of iOS iDevices. This new edition of evasion was issued to include the corrections that were issued in the evasion 6.0-6.1.2 Untether Cydia package, which addresses a bug that may cause boot issues on some iOS devices.
If you own an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch that was jailbroken using a previous version of evasion, there’s no need to restore to 6.1.2, download the updated utility and re-jailbreak. To apply the new boot revisions in evasi0n 1.5, simply launch Cydia, once it refreshes and downloads the updated data, navigate to the Changes section and install the new Evasi0n 6.0 – 6.1.2 Untether 0.4-1 update
The following devices are supported on all iOS 6 firmwares, including Apple’s new 6.1.2 update:
- iPad mini
- iPad 4 (the 4th generation with Retina display)
- iPhone 5
- iPhone 4S
- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3GS
- iPad 3
- iPad 2
- iPod Touch 5G or the 5th generation iPod touch
- iPod Touch 4G or the 4th generation iPod touch
The following is a the list of requirements for the Evasion UnTethered Jailbreak, as stated on the official evad3rs site:
- A USB cable to connect the device to the computer
- 5 minutes of your time!
- A computer, running Windows (XP minimum), Mac OS X (10.6 minimum) or Linux (x86 / x86_64)
- An iPhone, iPad or iPod running iOS 6.0 through 6.1
