Before I proceed I will like to eulogize my wonderful personal experience with motioninjoy. From my previous post, you should know by now that am an ardent game lover. I have a Logitech generic gamepad and an original PlayStation 3 keypad. my generic keypad worked well with most games except GTA IV, ASSASSIN CREED III, CRISIS, & HITMAN ABSOLUTION and a host of other game titles that are Xbox gamepad-exclusives. The good news is that I will be teaching you how you can configure & use motioninjoy gamepad tool to emulate any pc gamepad of your choice.
Sadly, most of the games in the list above are either not fully compatible with a non-Xbox gamepad or they are not compatible with a non-Xbox gamepad at all. And we have a workaround for this. happy reading

What is MotioninJoy?
MotioninJoy is a driver, designed by a developer unconnected with Sony, intended to use all the features of the Sixaxis and Dual-shock 3 controllers on a PC running Windows.

Requirements for a Successful MotioninJoy Gamepad Tool Installation

- If your game already supports joysticks, use the game’s control options to set up your controller with the game.
- Some games require Xbox 360 controllers, namely popular FPS games, as that is all they are programmed to recognize. If you have one of these games try out the Xbox 360 controller emulator profile in the DS3 Tool.
- You can see the list of games we’ve noticed require an Xbox 360 controller in the x360 compatibility list, or you can check your game’s manual or control options to see if an Xbox 360 controller is mentioned, recommended or required.
How to Configure & use MotioninJoy gamepad tool to Work as Xbox, PS 3 and Similar gamepads
As I was saying, without an Xbox 360 controller for windows, you cannot play GTA IV Series. Similarly, without a non-Xbox 360 gamepad, the option to use a gamepad in Crysis will not even be highlighted.
Gladly, this is where motioninjoy comes in. It will simply convert your Generic gamepad to emulate the Microsoft Xbox 360 game controller. In other words, as long as you have a good gamepad, you can easily use it.
Secondly, you can easily play your favourite pc games via Motioninjoy with an Xbox old gamepad for console (with pc converter), original play station 2 gamepad(with pc converter), with Xbox 360 controller(wired or wireless) or with PlayStation 3 converter.

How to Configure MotioninJoy to Work with all Windows PC Compatible Gamepads
to start with,tThe infographic below shows how you can configure and get started with motioninjoy gamepad tool for windows. I will explain this further in the text below.
For the sake of convenience, I have named the action areas in my screenshot above based on the user’s preference window. By and large, this tool is very easy to use and I will advise you to start it at first with an internet connection so that it can auto-update your drivers.
Steps to setup MotioninJoy on Windows PC
- step 1: from the image above: you will the list of “connected game controller(s)” under it you will see the name of your connected devices choose Generic game controller.
- The second step represents items 2 to 7. It shows where you can select the kind of controller emulation you want as you can’t use two at the same time. I will advise you to use either options 5, 6, or 7 which are PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 emulator or Custom. Note: if you plan to play any game that only supports an Xbox controller, I will advise you to choose item 6 which is for “Xbox with Xinput” . Otherwise, any of PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 with “Xinput” will suffice.
- Once you have choosen your preferred controller, minimize the tool and enjoy your game
