Android decoders and IPTV boxes come with inbuilt wifi adapters. Certain advanced(Like tiger t8 Ultra) decoders that are not android are also equipped with the inbuilt wifi antenna. The same is not true for most popular fta and iks receivers. The most exciting aspect of it is that the two fastest and most convenient internet protocols on decoders requires special hardware to work. Compatible decoder’s WiFi adapters and 3g/4g usb modems are not very easy to come by.

Choosing a 3g or 4g USB modem that will work with all decoders
We have talked about wifi adapters in the sub-heading above. Especially relevant is also USB data card or what we popularly call USB modems in Nigeria. While many new decoders come with wifi protocols, we cannot underrate the efficiency of USB modems. Therefore, an USB modem is as good as its wifi counterpart. Much as, wifi configurations, you cannot just go to the market and pick just about any USB modem and use it on your decoder. Most noteworthy, decoders are very selective when it comes to USB modems. I will give you a tip on how you can get a working USB modem to be used with your decoders.
- Most of all, Huwae E series USB modems will likely work with all decoders and Android boxes. An example of such Huawei modems are: E350, e303, e175.
- Only a few zte modem will work with decoders. The list includes: Zte mf 190, Zte mf 681, Zte mf 675, Zte mf 110
The summary of the above text is that if you need the fastest and the most reliable internet connection on your decoder, you need either LAN, WIFI or 3G / 4G MODEM. However, lan connection is largely becoming obsolette and nowadays most wifi ruters no longer come with a LAN port. MIFIs are the order of the day and they rarely have lan ports. Go with wifi or 3g if you want to stand any chance with iptv.
