According to the latest reports, Apple will release a new generation of folding-screen mobile phones next. If the news making the rounds are anything to go by, Apple is set to launch self-healing folding-screen iPhones.

When it comes to folding screen mobile phones, creases have always been a topic that cannot be avoided, and this is also a problem that manufacturers have been working hard to solve.
Although Apple does not yet have its folding screen phone, it boasts of having a solution to the crease problem.

Apple to Launch Self-Healing Folding Screen iPhones
Recently, a new Apple patent, “Electronic Device with Flexible Display Covering Layer” has been exposed. The patent describes ways to minimize damage to foldable devices and self-heal when damage occurs.
According to Apple’s patent, an electronic device equipped with a hinge can be bent about a bending axis, and the display screen spans the bending axis. And to mitigate the number of dents, scratches, or other defects in the display cover, a self-healing material will be used to cover the display.
Apple says the material can be made from “elastomers” to improve flexibility further. While self-healing can occur without cues and external intervention, the process can also be initiated or accelerated by applying external stimuli, such as heat, light, electricity, etc.
It sounds a bit like the logic of a “memory mattress”, which can change the hardness according to the body temperature, and when the pressure is removed, it will slowly return to its original state.
When Will Apple Foldable Phones Be Released?
For a couple of years, apple fans have been waiting for the release of the first Apple foldable phone. As for whether this patent will appear at all or when it will appear, it’s hard to say.
Until now, there has been no news about when Apple’s first folding-screen iPhone will be released.
However, according to the relevant patents, many whistleblowers have drawn the appearance renderings of the folding screen iPhone. I have selected two groups for your reference.

The logic of the two folding solutions is entirely different. The first, when folded, will turn a “tablet” into a regular-sized mobile. This will bring a large-screen reading experience and solve the portability problem.
The second is to turn a normal-sized mobile phone into “a smaller version without the full screen” by folding, which is more like the evolution of a flip phone.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Upcoming Apple Folding Phones
Of course, these two folding solutions have no advantages or disadvantages.
The choice will depend on everyone’s preferences. As for which one to choose, I think that the first option is more likely. It is an iPad when unfolded and an iPhone when it is folded.
With its advantages in software adaptation, it should reduce the feeling of separation when switching between the two states.
