It is high time Apple produced a dual sim card version. Fortunately, we are hopeful to see an Apple dual sim iPhone this year. The new iPhone will support dual card dual standby!” However, it is expected to be available for the Chinese market only upon launch. Hopefully, when there is a demand by other markets, we could witness more production.

There have always been rumours of a dual card iPhone. Just that this time the “21st Century Business Herald” said that the dual card version will be a special domestic supply(for the Chinese market to begin with). From the look of things, the international version of the new iPhone will Still maintain a single card design.

First of,  whether this news concerning an Apple dual sim iPhone is true or not, what many people have been unable to understand is why a simple dual-card dual-standby Apple has never been in any apple mobile phone up to this moment?

First of all, technology is definitely not a problem. The early cottages only gained a lot of buyers with dual-card dual-standby, not to mention Apple is the world’s highest value-added technology company.

Secondly, there is a ready market for dual card phone. In fact,  the actual situation is that many people in the country give up the iPhone because the iPhone does not support dual card dual standby, which is unlikely to be discovered by the Apple market.

First of all, it needs to be clear that dual standby and dual standby are not a global demand. There are two main reasons why domestic consumers(in China) need dual card dual standby: 1. to separate work and life and be covered by sperate operators. However, in Apple’s major developed markets, mail is still the main tool for work communication. Hence Apple has been slow to produce a dual card phone.  

 In addition, in the mobile phone market in Europe and the United States, the operator market is actually the mainstream. Also, it is very common to transfer the network without having a sim card or a number. 

However,  in China, the network transfer between different operators’  “means giving up the mobile phone number entirely”. But now the mobile phone number has been bound with too many services. 

 

Another reason why we don’t have an Apple dual sim iPhone is that of the cost of production. 

In actual fact, the cost of producing a dual version iPhone is high. If Apple develops a dual-card model for the Chinese population and overseas gets a single-card model, the cost will increase greatly in terms of the industry chain. And from the design point of view, the dual-card model must be modified for the internal space, after all, the iPhone’s internal space design has not been enough. Also, such a transformation will not cause different experiences for domestic consumers and overseas consumers. At the same time, if the dual-card version is realized by cutting batteries or parts, will domestic consumers buy it? And if you only want to do a dual-card model, it means that single-card users also have to bear the cost of dual-card space.

All in all, this is a very troublesome thing for Apple. So, Apple has been dragging this issue to the present. However, the problem still needs to be solved. As long as the “transfer between network operators does not change number”. It is believed that the demand of domestic consumers for dual-cards will still exist. In summary, Apple still needs to face “Chinese consumers need dual cards.

Nothing is written in stone just yet. No one can say with all certainty that this year’s new iPhone will support dual-card dual standby. Although, if Apple really wants to launch a dual-card model specially designed for China, it is believed that it will simultaneously release a single-card model in China. There must be some changes. Let us watch on and see what Apple is going to do.

But more importantly, Apple also depends on consumers. If the demand for the entire dual-card model is not strong, it will be unlikely that we have a dual sim iPhone soon. If it is eventually released, I will need to lay my hand on the iPhone for the Chinese market to be able to enjoy this.
