TV shows about the medical profession are often expository. It deals with life and death, close calls, saves, and losses too. The idea of medical TV shows is the closest we get to real situations. Do you remember E.R.? It was making waves some 15 years ago with a mix of drama, comedy, and anxiety that comes with an emergency room. The show showed us love, death, and gains. It records the most significant artistic achievement in all and remains a classic.
2. HOUSE
In House tv show, Hugh Laurie smoothly plays the role of a drug addict, rude but a genius doctor. The show is beautifully crafted, acted, and directed. Some people will argue that it is the best medical TV show ever.
3. MASH
Mash is a tale of mobile army surgeons who survive the odds of life by wits and fun. This one is a timeless classic as it approaches one of the most critical events in the World; the aftermath of War.
4. GREY’S ANATOMY
Grey’s anatomy is, first of all, an encouragement to all women Doctors. The show brings a lot of drama and paparazzi. It continues to air until now and maintains high ratings.
5. GENERAL HOSPITAL
Now, this has got to be the longest-running medical TV show of all time. The show started in 1963 and runs till this present time. The show has had its share of murders, betrayals, secrets, marriages, and anarchies. For a show of more than 50 years, the writers, actors, and producers have done a great job of keeping our eyes on them.

6. ST. ELSEWHERE
St. Elsewhere gave us the twist at the very end. Most viewers didn’t see it coming, so the show had a lot of praise and criticism. The most underlying feature of the show was its impact on popular culture. The 1980s were a delight as a result of St. Elsewhere.
7. SCRUBS
Scrubs is a vivid depiction of the various experiences of medical personnel. It commences with the life of Dorian who sets out on his career. The show had several dramatic intrigues. The comedy is there but has a strange ring to it, and that’s why people loved it more.
8. NIP/TUCK
Now, it is hard to decide if you’re onto a satire or medical drama. Let’s say the show was a mix of both. It tells the tale of two plastic surgeons, with their ventures and many adventures. Through its 7 year run, it bagged 10 awards and enjoyed goof ratings from viewers.
9. NURSE JACKIE
Nurse Jackie is an overworked Nurse who survives a typical day on drugs. The story leans toward a funny side sometimes, but the drama is still there. It had 79 nominations and won various awards.

10. DR. KILDARE/BEN CASEY (a TIE)
Both shows came to the TV with the concept of Hero- Doctors. They had such fame and popularity. Some critiques argue that they gave birth to other mainstream shows. Dr. Kildare is about a dashing Doctor, Richard Chamberlain. While Ben Casey was the exact opposite of Kildare. Both shows won many awards and bagged several nominations.
