The saying goes “One man’s food is another man’s poison. The post am about  making is basically for newbies.Like the title suggest, this article covers majorly how to connect your Nokia phones (this must be a phone that has usb modem or bluetooth) to the computer  to access the internet via pc suite or Nokia ovi suite or Bluetooth.

In a related development, this article will give you a fore knowledge on how to connect any phone to the phone’s suite as to use it as a modem to access the internet.

Nokia has pragmatically snub Nokia nokia pc suite the power now lies on nokia ovi suite porpularly known as Nokia suite. The new nokia suite is much more better than the old nokia pc suite but i still use both for a reason best known to me. Infact Nokia suite now works like blackberry desktop manager and itunes  with the improved  features and to connect your phone to the internet using nokia ovi suite is one click as long as your sim has a data plan or a pay as you go plan (see picture below on how to do this)

> Install your ovi suite,

>Run your nokia suite,

>Connect your phone and once your phone is detected, click on the connect to the internet from the list of options on your left hand side or from the tools tab

that is all you need once your phone is connected you can surf the internet on your computer but if  anything goes wrong, nokia suite will prompt you to correct same.

Download nokia suite here

There are different names for different phone’s pc softwares/ suite. E.g for blackberry it is called desktop manager, for most samsung phones it is called pc studio, for sony ericsson its called pc suite and so on. however in the context of this post, I will be using nokia as a case study and i will be using four gsm service providers in nigeria for my settings.Namely: mtn, glo, airtel, and etisalat. I believe you will learn a lot from this post as you can work your way around any pcsuite with my guide.

The first thing you should do is to download and install your pc software / suite of if am installation CD comes with your phone good for you then just run it and follow the on-screen instruction to install it.

– you computer will drive your phone through the pc suite and in no time your phone will be ready for use

– Once your phone is ready

-Open the PC SUITE  then click on the icon with the tag connect to the internet

-a small window named “One Touch Access” will be displayed just click on settings

-then you will see select modem that is choose your device and click next

YOU WILL SEE SELECT NETWORK OPERATOR please choose configure the network manually then click next

– a tab will be opened to you that contains the followings:
and as you can see am from nigeria and a subscriber of glo nigeria so i input glo mobile nigeria settings

-accesspoint: glomms (depending on the access point used by your network provider)

-username: mms

password: mms.

-save and exit

Download  Nokia_PC_Suite_eng_web installe.exe here

– Navigate your way to your NETWORK CONNECTIONS by opening network sharing centre

-This will take you to all the network connections located on your computer simply locate your device from the pack then right click on it

-by clicking on properties>>>configure>>>from the drop down list of all the speed byte choose the highest which is usually 921600 YOU ARE DONE SAVE AND EXIT

-If you are using a plug and play bluetooth with a nokia phone the theirs is little or no difference between the cable and the bluetooth connection just make sure you dont install bluesoleil first if you want to use nokia pc suite with your bluetooth

-Only that with bluetooth you have to select bluetooth mode

Bluesoleil is like a driver for d bluetooth device and it enable users whose phones doesn’t have a cable modem to connect to the internet and transfer data to and from their mobile phones

Note: Vista users should beware of bluesoleil

Install bluesoleil then start it ( you can buy the installation cd it from any computer shop)

-Next goto your phone personal confoguration settings in case on nokia java phone or goto your access point for symbian

=Then click  on personal area networking service a dialog box will be shown to you just insert your username and password here and connect that is all

NOTE: with the bluetooth modem option, all multimedia internet enabled  phones is supported
